Shopping in St Petersburg

Buying whatever you want is not a problem inSt Petersburgeven if you don’t want to go far from the Nevsky avenue. If you are interested in souvenirs, check this post, but if you are looking for clothes, accessories and jewelry you need to go to one of the shopping centers like Gostiny Dvor, Passage, Gallery or Stockmann.

Gostiny dvor (Gostiny dvor metro station) is the oldest shopping center inSt Petersburg. Nowadays you can find there anything from souvenirs to shoes, clothes or jewelry. Nowadays Gostiny Dvor is not as popular among the citizens ofSt Petersburg as it used to be, but nevertheless you can check it (mainly for souvenirs and  jewelry).

Passage shopping center is another place you can visit.  You can buy there cosmetics, jewelry,  bags and souvenirs, but there is no wide selection of clothes. By the way, there is Prisma supermarket on the ground floor – one of the few places in the center of the city where you can buy foodstuff. Passage is situated close to Gostiny Dvor metro station across the Nevsky avenue.


A 6-storey Stockmann is situated in the corner of the Nevsky avenue and Vosstaniya square (close to Mayakovskaya or Ploshad’ Vosstaniya metro stations). There you can buy  clothes, shoes, accessories, cosmetics or food in a grocery store.

Galeria (Gallery shopping center)

 This  huge shopping center opened in 2010 contains about 290 shops so you can hardly leave it without a single purchase. It is situated very close to Ploshad Vosstaniya metro station, next to Moskovsky train station.   Due to a wide selection of brands Galeria quickly became one of the most favorite shopping centers in St Petersburg.

Besides shopping centers, there are lots of mono brand shops like Zara, H&M, Benetton or Bosco Sports along the Nevsky avenue.
