Boat trips in St Petersburg

Peter and paul fortress

St Petersburg is sometimes called Venice of the North because of its  93 rivers and canals, so it’s no wonder that boat trips are very popular with tourists. The city looks different from water so I highly recommend you to take such a tour during your visit to St Petersburg. A boat tour lasts approximately 1 hour and costs about 500 rubles. There are many companies offering them and there is no problem finding one – boat landing stages are situated close to the main attractions – Savior on Spilled blood, Anichkov bridge, Peter and Paul fortress, Kazan cathedral just to name some. Generally tours are held in Russian only, but there are also several companies that run several tours in English a day.  The boat routes can differ a little bit, but generally it includes a small part of the Neva, Fontanka  and Moika rivers.
