dolls gallery st petersburgGallery of dolls is  very nice place for kids ( and  their parents) to visit in St Petersburg. It’s    e hidden in two semi-basement rooms on  Bolshaya Morskaya street in the center of Saint-Petersburg, not far from St Isaak’s cathedral and  Mariinsky palace. Inside you will see a collection of hand-made dolls by Russian artists collected by the owner of the gallery, Varvara Skripkina. Portrait dolls of Putin,  characters of Russian fairy tales, animals  or even personalization of Russian curse phrases – all dolls are different, but they have common traits – strong individuality and love of their maker you can feel even now. Gallery of dolls  isn’t a museum in real sense, there is no guide and all inscriptions are in Russian, but do spend some time there, you will like it.  The entrance is free.
